Transcript:
Attorney Tom Olsen: Tree law is that if there's a tree on your neighbor's property and that tree is noticeably defective, dying, dead branches, et cetera, if you put your neighbor on notice via writing that their tree is defective, dying, dead, if you put them on notice and then that tree comes down and hits your property, your car, you can sue your neighbor for your damages to your house and damages to your car.
If your neighbor's tree is perfectly healthy, nobody knows there's a problem with it, it happens to come down by act of God and your neighbor's tree falls down on your property, you're going to bear your own expenses. What Jack is talking about is he's got a neighbor that clearly has a defective tree, dead tree, dead branches, and he's asking about us writing a letter to his neighbor putting the neighbor on notice. Jack, that's something normally you could do it by yourself.
