Here’s my last clip showing a few more cool “odd” sounding stock kits in the new Roland TD-50X Upgrade. The first is one of my faves, “Trash Noiser”. Following that is “EDM Drum Step”, “EVO TR” and finally “Ana Hybrid”. Like my other recent TD50X clips, I didn’t add any effects, nor did I do any extra module editing to these kits --- they are exactly how it sounds ‘as is’ from Roland.
Whenever I dial in these kits, I love exploring the different sounds, layers and effects pre-built into these kits. Especially in the different parts of each piece of gear. Take note of the different sounds in the Hat’s edge vs. the bow, or how the Tom rims may be different depending on which Tom you hit. These sounds inspire me to play patterns that become more musical by taking advantage of these sound settings. I also keep a mental note of some of these sounds and editing parameters and then use these settings in some of my “normal” kit set-ups.
