I enter the shanty slums of Barrio Chamelecon, a feared neighborhood of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Many Hondurans told me not to go as they considered the area—governed by gangs—as "extremely dangerous." I enter to find out what the current situation is like in the community. I'm told that an American pastor who sold his belongings in the US and moved down to Honduras lives in the riverbed shanty. I go on a quest to find him and find out what brought him to Honduras and why he left everything behind to live amongst the poorest people of Honduras.
I enter the community see the devastation that Hurricanes Eta and Iota left behind. Though the families have come up with ingenious methods to survive, the need is overwhelming.
