
A press conference on the prevention and control of the epidemic in Putian announced that, as of September 12th, Putian had a total of 64 nucleic acid test-positive cases, including 32 confirmed infections and 32 asymptomatic infections.
A preliminary assessment of the outbreak said the infections were due to the Delta strain. According to the Chinese National Health Commission on September 14th, 59 new cases were reported on September 13th, all in the southeastern Fujian province. In just four days, a total of 102 local infections were reported in Fujian Province.
