In September 2021, Indian Defense Chief Bipin Rawat referred to the importance of India acquiring a rocket force of its own. It was also announced that the Government of India is currently taking precautionary measures in this regard. This is considered to be the most important announcement expected in many years. The reason is that China, India's main adversary, already has a very strong rocket force and its operations are seen as optimal for the next generation of war operations internationally. It was also clear that India would not be able to cope if China suddenly launched a barrage of rocket-propelled grenade launches. While the fact that India does not have a rocket force of its own has been viewed with displeasure by security circles, the current announcement is seen as reassuring from many quarters.
It is known that the Integrated Rocket Force, which is currently being developed in the first phase, can be deployed to prevent Chinese incursions directly on the frontier, to carry out air defense attacks more precisely, and to attack enemy command tents, although it cannot be created in such a way as to immediately destroy enemy military bases. But these are strategies of strategic importance in terms of border contradictions. The reason is that during cross-border incursions, the precision of command bases and key structures can be disturbed by the precision of the enemy's key balance and focal point.
Although the need for surface-to-surface missiles and warplanes has long been emphasized in Indian defense circles, the need for it is now felt to be greater than ever. India has realized the need to change the old methods of warfare and now resort to strategic warfare. These tactics are called deep battle, i.e. deep attack. Manoj Mukund Narawane, Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, commented on the recent changes in the war on the border. Sites are therefore more likely to be attacked first. Attacks on these will be precisely targeted. Following this, automatic planes and drones will infiltrate the airspace to attack and destroy the enemy country, missiles and artillery tanks. Along with this the artillery installed on the border will be used to target and attack enemy targets. He explained in detail that the remaining forces would be subjected to the third phase of direct attacks after the first phase of operations by both sides.
