Hi, welcome to the Lake Mead and Hoover Dam water level update for January 2023. Thanks to several large snow storms, the snowpack in the Upper Colorado River Basin is looking healthy. In today's video, we take a look at the snowpack statistic and discuss if this snow will be enough to help Lake Mead recover from record-low water levels.
After reviewing the current water level statistics we bring our focus on the latest 24-month projections from the Bureau of Reclamation. These projections show Lake Mead's water level declining below the 1,025-foot threshold that triggers the "Tier 3" water level restrictions.
