Protests last night erupted in the Alexandra Township leaving a number of shops looted and torched. Police have warned motorists to avoid Johannesburg's inner city. Sections of the M2 highway were closed after protesters blocked the road with burning tyres and rocks on Saturday night. Our reporter Natasha Phiri is at the scene to monitor the situation. Shortly after this crossing, the crew were robbed of their equipment.
